Ramadan is spiritually the most significant and valuable month in the life of the Muslim community, according to a survey of over 1.6 billion people observing Ramadan worldwide. People focus on their spiritual growth, being grateful and generous with everyone throughout this holy month, and spending quality time with their families and house. What Is Ramadan?
The Islamic month calculation is based on the circulation of the moon so, In the Islamic lunar calendar, the month of Ramadan starts on the 1st of Ramadan which is nine months of the lunar calendar. It is completed in 30 days but sometimes it is 29 days a month. This month starts from the revaluation of The Holy Book Quran Pak on HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (S.A.A.W) in the second year of Hijrat 624 CE, it is the most important month for Muslims, for fasting, prayer, gratitude, and charity. In the month of Ramadan, all Muslims observe a strict and honest fast for ALLAH, from dawn to sunset. They are forbidden from eating, drinking, or any type of smoking, inhaling, injections, etc. So, they could bear and understand the position of any hungry person and create a sense of helping the needy. The fast is broken with a meal (date, water any type of fruit) known as Iftar after sunset. All neighbors and family members share iftar meal to get ALLAH’s prosperity. In the month of Ramadan’s traditions, charity holds a special place. This month also encouraged Muslims to share their wealth and other precious things with the less fortunate community of people through Zakat and community service. The end of the holy month is celebrated with the Islamic festival of Eid al-Fitr as it is a gift for those people who have fasted throughout the month. This day starts with a special prayer called the Eid prayer. On this occasion, all family members send and receive gifts from each other’s happily.
