Introduction of Kashmiri Green Tea:
Kashmiri Green Tea is type of tea which is made from the Camellia sinensis named leaves and bud. Basically Green Tea is originated from China and now is produced in Korea and Japan as well. Its region of origin is East Asia. Here are many varieties of Green Tea based on its growing condition, sinensis used, production method, variety of C, horticultural methods and harvesting timing. So, with the passage of time it is prepared in Pakistan, India and all over the world with much new, different and easy method. As everyone know that hot and soupy dish are special in winter days. But some people drink it to boast up their mind and body on daily bases.
As green tea is spread all over the world so it has different names so in Pakistan it is mostly famous with the name of pink green tea having pink color. Generally it is brewed with the Green Tea leaves, addition of baking soda and then mixed with milk to give it distinct pink color. The dark greenish black Green Tea leaves are used for this pink color of Green Tea. So, in Pakistan this Kashmiri Green Tea (pink Tea) is ever Favorite Drink in winter and in winter functions like marriage ceremonies and birthday parties.
Let’s come to know how we can prepare Green tea (Pink Tea).
Equipment’s:
- Saucepan of medium size
- Strainer
Ingredients of Kashmiri Green Tea:
- Water 1 cup
- Kashmiri Green tea Leaves 2 tbsp
- 2 star of anise
- Green cardamoms 6 to 8
- Whole Cloves 2
- 1|8 tsp of baking soda
- Milk 1 cup
- A pinch of salt
- Sugar ( according to your taste)
- Fresh cream a pack or half pack (optional)
Cooking method of Green Tea:
- Take a medium saucepan and put on burner at high heat. Add water, Kashmiri Green tea leaves, star anise, green cardamoms pods, and cloves and bring them to boil.
- Once this all thing being boil properly add baking soda and it will fizz a little. Allow this mixture boil till 5 to 6 minutes very well. The forth in the water will go from pale to deep pink color.( if pink color is not come properly add some more baking soda and mix it more fast). The water rapidly reduces and evaporates. So, Green Tea kahwa is ready.
- Now add milk, salt and sugar in it. Now adjust the quantity of salt and sugar according to you taste and turn of the burner quickly. Otherwise the pink color will be disturbed.
- Strain the Green Tea (pink tea) and served with crushed almonds, pistachios and other dry fruits as you like.
